Wow oh wow do we have a fun blog post today. Alex and Joel's summer camp inspired wedding was completely unique to them and their love for the outdoors. It created such a fun and playful atmosphere to their special day from dawn until dusk. Every teeny tiny detail was carefully planned and thought out thanks to our gal Kelsey, with Jane in the Woods. Roll the tape!!
The day of paper goods are just tooooo good and it encompasses the overall theme so well. The colors, the fonts, the layout, they all play a roll into creating the perfect invitation suite, and Alex and Joel nailed it.
Anemones, peach dahlias, and little black eyed susans made up Alex's wildflower bridal bouquet. A combination that is strikingly wild and beautiful. We added lots of bear grass, chamomile, and crocosmia to the bridesmaid bouquets to add some extra wispiness. One of the things I love most about the florals in this wedding are how representative they are of the summer camp/outdoorsy concept. Have a special theme in mind? Contact us!
There is absolutely no better location than L'Auberge for this wedding. There are gorgeous trees, mountains, rocks, and everything else you could want for those who loveeee nature! Walking into the ceremony space you were greeted with the actual coolest welcome sign that takes after traditional national park trail hiking signage. We included a lushious ground spray here, growing up from the ground onto the sign. Guests were welcomed with four large ground floral sprays on either side of the aisle. Wooden benches were mixed into the aisle seating, another nod to the summer camp vibe. Overlapping rugs lead down the aisle to the altar, which was created with two asymetrical floral pillars. We added lots of greenery to the bottoms to blend the pillars into the deck to still give that illusion that they are growing out of the ground. Alex and Joel's ceremony was complete with a string quartet and a planting ceremony, where they took dirt from their favorite places and used it to pot a plant.
Moving into cockail hour - I don't even know where to start! The seating chart is divine... Each table was a state park or city that are special to Alex and Joel and we included a large ground spray to accent this wall. Guests were given "Camp Fowler" canvas tote bags and stickers as favors and games like ping pong and backgammon kept guests entertained throughout the evening. There was even an area where you could get your birthchart read! The lounge furniture completely stole the show and each setting was accented with different camp details like a firepit, vintage fan, and books about plants and hiking.
One of my favorite details of the reception area were the green and yellow lunch trays that the table numbers sat on top of. Along with that the personal menus on clipboards really brought the summer camp theme to the dinner table! Roses, dahlia balls, and apricot lisanthus grew along each table in enlongated centerpieces accented with colored taper candles and votives. In addition to the colorful napkins, and wooden place cards at each setting, one of the most iconic pieces were the mix and matched school chairs!! I mean, what is more summer camp than that?!
Alex and Joel's wilflower wedding cake was right on par and even the cake server set went with the dark green color scheme! Overall, this wedding was done so exquisitely and we had such a great time being a part of it! No detail was overlooked for this day and it totally paid off. We love our couples that give us a theme and let us run with it! Enjoy!
