Let’s get dark. Let’s get moody. But make it fine art, yeah? This styled shoot with our friend Ryann Lindsey was totally up our alley and a bit of a stretch for her which made it so much fun to create.
Black doesn’t have to mean “goth” (is that opinion still out there in the world?) and this styled shoot effortlessly blends the pampas grass trend with a fine art vibe and hits of those luscious, dark tones. It’s so insanely good.
If you’re looking to incorporate some black details into your wedding day, take note. The dark elements here are tempered by the blushes and peach tones in the floral. We are getting gorgeous fullness from the feathery pampas grass which takes center stage on the arch but creates a united theme throughout the rest of the floral.
One of my favorite elements that Ryann incorporates in her work is the use of food. Your design doesn’t have to stop at linens/rentals/flowers. Think about your menu and the way you might be able to incorporate your colors into food options. I can’t get enough of this charcuterie board that pulls in all of the other colors that really set the tone for this day.
So what do you think? Are you afraid of the dark and moody or did I win you over?
