This week we're throwing it wayyyy back to a colorful, fiesta inspired wedding at the gorgeous El Chorro.
Megan and Tommy are clients that have turned into friends and I love that we got to be part of their big day.
Let's start at the beginning(ish) with Tommy's proposal in New York followed by a perfectly planned surprise trip to Kleinfled's where Megan took her first crack at saying "yes" to her dress. They chose a spring wedding date and began planning the perfect party to celebrate the start of their married life.
To honor Tommy's Mexican heritage, the couple chose to integrate elements inspired by a fiesta. I love that all of the color on their wedding date was incorporated in the flowers creating the perfect balance of modern and playful with the more classic elements of their day.
The ceremony space was decorated with a custom-made arch and biiiig colorful crepe streamers in bright, bold colors. We love the mountains peeking over the backdrop. Each chair lining the aisle featured a gorgeous, architectural air plant and foliage with little pops of color from the flowers.
Megan's bouquet is one of my all-time favorites. She wasn't afraid of color and wanted her bouquet to make a statement. We combined classic blooms like hydrangea but kept them in theme with the rest of the decor by using them in bright, fun colors.
After a dreamy ceremony under the desert sun, the party moved in to the reception. Each table featured a trio of centerpieces including a potted, colorful cacti, a bud vase, and one large arrangement bursting with the most perfect spring blooms.
The fireplace behind the sweetheart table featured a gorgeous hand lettered sign along with a garland that was full of peonies. That's the best kind of garland, in my opinion. Megan and Tommy's chairs featured wreaths along with a "mr." and "mrs." to designate their seats.
And one of our favorite details of the day? Their fun cake topped with a little his and hers cactus and one, perfect peony.
