What do you do when the world is shutting down around you and it’s the week of your wedding? Well if you’re Samantha and Colton, you plan an epic elopement with your nearest and dearest in the desert! Their big wedding was planned for March 20th, the same exact week that everything in Arizona started shutting down, forcing them to reimagine their big day plans and reschedule the larger party for later.
These two can roll with the punches with best of em! They took the unknown and made it happen! That’s the kind of energy we like to see! We jumped in last minute to create a bouquet and boutonniere to pull it all together. Along with Suzy Goodrick and their close family, they turned their plan B into something extra special that was just as spectacular and picture perfect – and with one heck of story to laugh about one day!
We combined bleached pampas grass, pops of warm desert red and loads of texture to compliment the surroundings. This bouquet was a little wild at heart with a play on dried and fresh blooms coming together for a little somehtin’ somethin’. We love seeing that banksia bloom peek out from the middle to say hi paired with preserved fern leaves just gracefully doing their thing. For fresh, we loaded up the soft, full petaled roses and a hint of green for a little spring freshness. With their rescheduled date in mind, Samantha saved her bouquet and brought it back for us to deconstruct and add to her new bouquet – cue the happy tears! We loved this SO much!
